To achieve carbon neutrality, PRM is determined to take the lead in converting to
a new feedstock and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
Achieving Carbon Neutral with New Feedstock
About "Prasus™"
Mass Balance Approach
When a raw material having certain characteristics (e.g., biomass-derived raw material) is mixed with another raw material (e.g., petroleum-derived raw material) in the processing and distribution process from the raw material to the product, the mass balance approach or mass balance method is a chain of custody method that allows an equivalent amount of the certified input raw material to be allocated to specific outputs based on verifiable bookkeeping.
Characteristics
- Two types of feedstocks: bio‑naphtha and waste plastics (chemical recycling)
- Significantly reduced GHG emissions compared to petroleum‑derived products (based on specific calculation conditions)
- Domestic manufacturing and stable supply
- Traceability managed through third‑party certification
- Mutual communication with customers and consumers through the Prasus™
